Old students celebrate ANCOHS’ golden jubilee in grand style

The 50th Founder’s Day Anniversary Celebration of the Anglican Comprehensive High School (ANCOHS), formerly known as Awori Anglican Comprehensive High School, Ipaja, Lagos is set to commence from Monday 4th – 17th September, 2023.

While addressing journalists in Lagos, Co-Chairman, 50th Anniversary Celebration Committee, Prince Sunday Akinremi Ladipo, reeled out series of activities to commemorate the anniversary.

These activities which kicked off on Monday, September 4 with a mega rally/road walk to sensitive the Ipaja community by the current and old students of the school will also witness photo exhibition/career talk, medical outreach, inter-collegiate quiz/debate contest, novelty match between the Old Students & the PTA of the school, as well as lecture/fund-raising.

The anniversary carnival party/award ceremony holds on Saturday 16th September, while the thanksgiving/confirmation service comes up on Sunday,17th September in the school chapel.

In his contribution, the National President of the Old Students’ Association, Rev. Femi Lapite listed series of interventions and assistance the body has rendered to the school since inception.

These include: donation of books to equip the school library; donation of chairs to the school chapel; donation of complete set of Table Tennis board for the recreation centre; renovation of the school’s Physics laboratory; renovation of an old building in the school; organization of mentorship/career guidance programs; unveiling of the school’s compendium, among others.

The star project of the golden jubilee celebration however, is the soon-to- be-delivered ultra-modern Gate House.

The 13th Principal of the school, the Ven. Joseph Adediji gave the closing remark by thanking the Majiyagbe and the Tinuwomi families who donated the land on which the school was built.

He also eulogised the proprietors of the school, the leadership of LASMAB, as well as past Principals and staff of the school for their exemplary vision and selfless service.

Anglican Comprehensive High School, ANCOHS, Ipaja established in 1973 is one of the Anglican secondary schools in Lagos State under the umbrella of the Lagos Anglican Schools Management Board (LASMAB).
