US President Donald Trump has sparked reactions after publicly complimenting rapper Nicki Minaj’s backside during a rally in Port Huron, Michigan, where he asked her to stand up as the crowd cheered.
Trump made the remark on Sunday, October 25, after travelling to the event at McMorran Place Arena with Minaj aboard Air Force One.
“By the way, I looked at one hell of a beautiful ass before — Nicki Minaj. That’s hard to miss,” Trump said.
He then asked Minaj to stand up and told the audience that he hoped she was not offended by his comment.
“I hope Nicki wasn’t insulted, but we love Nicki. She’s been with us for a long time,” he added.

The comment came as Trump discussed his earlier remarks about the physique of Republican Senator Jon Husted of Ohio, a former college football player.
Earlier in October, Trump said he had examined Husted’s physique after learning about his athletic background.
“I don’t do this with men very often. I started examining his body, because I didn’t know he was a great athlete,” Trump said.
He added that he had looked at Husted’s backside and hands before praising his athletic ability.
“You are a great athlete. Congratulations,” Trump told the senator.
Trump’s latest remark about Minaj has drawn attention online, with the president’s comments adding another unusual moment to his public appearances.
