Onochie hails Buhari over confirmation as NDDC chair

Lauretta Onochie, the Special Assistant on Social Media to President Muhammadu Buhari, has hailed the President following her confirmation as the Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) by the Senate.

The Senate, at the plenary on Tuesday, also confirmed 14 other nominees as board members of the NDDC.

Speaking on her confirmation via a statement made available to The Star on Tuesday, Onochie described President Buhari as the “lover of Nigeria and the Niger Delta”.

She equally expressed her appreciation to National Assembly members and leaders of various political parties in the country.

She stated: “Many great thanks to President Muhammadu Buhari, the lover of Nigeria and the Niger Delta.

“Thank you to Baba’s aides, who stood by us, all through.

“Thank you to all who supported us, from party Leaders across the political divide to the Senate President, Senators, Speaker, and Honourable Members of the House of Representatives.

“Same depth of thanks to Niger Deltans, our families, friends, and Nigerians. God bless you all abundantly.

“When the Lord took away the captivity of Niger Delta, we were like them that dreamed.(Psalm 126: 1-6),” Onochie said.
