Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has ordered the immediate suspension of the Head of Service (HOS) and all Permanent Secretaries in the state civil service.
This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday, June 29, by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Kazie Uko.
Uko noted that the suspension followed the inauguration of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry on the Recovery of Properties and Funds belonging to the Abia State Government.

He added that Governor Otti has approved the appointment of the Director of the Ministry of Education, Lady Joy Maduka, as the Acting Head of Service.
The governor’s CPS stated: “All the Permanent Secretaries, except John Pedro Iroakazi – Clerk of the House; Mrs. U. G. Uche Ikonne – Solicitor General; are by this notice directed to hand over to the most senior Director in their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
“This directive takes immediate effect.”
