Paystack has terminated the appointment of its co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Ezra Olubi, following allegations of sexual misconduct at workplace.

The controversy began after Max ‘Makispoke’ Obae hosted an X Space titled ‘My Piece’, where she accused Olubi of misogyny and revisited past personal grievances.

Her comments triggered widespread reactions on X, leading users to dig up old tweets from Olubi’s account.

The resurfaced posts — containing graphic and troubling content — intensified public outrage and fuelled allegations of misogyny, predatory behaviour, pedophilia, and bestiality.

Paystack, thereafter, suspended Olubi, saying it launched a formal investigation into the matter.

However, in a recent blog post, Olubi confirmed that the company has now dismissed him.

He said he remained silent throughout the probe to avoid interfering with the process, noting that he had expected a “fair, thorough and unbiased review.”

Olubi added that his legal team is examining the circumstances of his dismissal.

“Over the past few days, my name and reputation, built over years as co-founder and technical leader at Paystack, have been called into question because of information circulating online,” he wrote.

According to him, the decision to sack him was communicated on November 22, 2025, even though the investigation had not been concluded and without giving him an opportunity to respond — actions he alleged violate the terms of his suspension and Paystack’s own procedures.

Olubi insisted that the viral posts didn’t reflect his character or conduct, adding that he fully complied with the board’s directives during the investigation.

He stressed that his legal team will determine the next steps, adding that he will refrain from further comments for now.
