PBAT group denies linking Tompolo to Nnamdi Kanu ultimatum

The PBAT Door to Door Movement has debunked reports linking its Grand Patron, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, to a purported 21-day ultimatum allegedly issued to the Federal Government to release detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

In a statement released on Sunday, the group’s National Coordinator, Sunday Asuku, described the claim as “false, malicious, and the handiwork of desperate propagandists and fake news merchants.”

According to Asuku, the fabricated story was a calculated attempt to create disaffection between Tompolo and the Federal Government, as well as undermine his contributions to peace and national unity.

“This claim is entirely baseless and the handiwork of desperate propagandists, fake news merchants, fifth columnists, and agents of disunity,” Asuku stated.

He said those behind the report were unsettled by Tompolo’s unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that such propaganda would fail in the face of his proven commitment to peace, stability, and national development.

“For the avoidance of doubt, at no time did Chief Tompolo issue any statement or directive regarding the legal proceedings involving Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The matter is before a competent court of law, and any attempt to interfere with due process would be both unpatriotic and unlawful,” Asuku clarified.

The group called on the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies to investigate and prosecute those responsible for spreading the false information, warning that the reckless use of social media to circulate divisive propaganda poses a serious threat to Nigeria’s unity.

“Chief Tompolo has consistently demonstrated commitment to peace and stability, especially in the Niger Delta region where his efforts have sustained the nation’s economic lifeline,” Asuku added.

He urged Nigerians to disregard the fake report and verify information before sharing it, emphasizing that the PBAT Door to Door Movement remains committed to promoting peace, good governance, and national cohesion through factual reporting and civic engagement.
