Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has said the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) National Convention, taking place today, will show Nigerians and the international community that the party remains vibrant and ready to bounce back.
Speaking after inspecting the convention venue and meeting with party stakeholders in Abuja, Wike said all arrangements have been completed for a successful gathering and urged delegates to maintain peace and order throughout the event.
Over 2,000 delegates from all 36 states are expected to converge at the Velodrome within the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

Wike praised the organization of the convention, noting: “For me, this is a job well done. Nigerians will see proper arrangements and will recognize that PDP is back. This convention reflects our preparedness for the future.”
On security, the minister assured that measures are robust, warning that attempts to disrupt the event would not succeed.
“Security personnel are on duty, and we have anticipated potential troublemakers. The security agencies are up to the task,” he said.
He concluded by urging delegates to remain calm, orderly, and supportive of the committees’ efforts.
