PDP: Hunger, insecurity will shape 2027 elections

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said the 2027 general elections will serve as a referendum on hunger, hardship, and insecurity under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Addressing journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, stated that Nigerians had become “wiser” and would reject the APC at the polls.

“What will be on the ballot in 2027 is hunger, insecurity, and uncertainty — things no money can buy,” Ologunagba said.

He accused the ruling party of worsening poverty and economic hardship, recalling that under PDP governments, farmers had access to fertiliser through mobile phones, while under the APC “Nigerians are forced to buy hunger.”

Ologunagba also alleged that security agencies were used to harass PDP members during last weekend’s by-elections in Kaduna and Taraba states, claiming prominent members, including elected officials, were arrested.

He dismissed the polls as a charade, insisting the ruling party’s alleged intimidation tactics would not succeed in 2027.

“The arrogance of the APC in those elections only shows what they plan to do in 2027,” he said.

“But Nigerians are wiser and hurting.

“In 2027, they will speak with one voice.”
