Dan Orbih, Deputy National Chairman (South) of the Peoples Democratic Party, is dead.
Orbih died on Monday, August 31, 2026, according to a statement issued on behalf of his family by Francis Udukhomoi Orbih, Esq.
The family announced his death with “profound sadness and a heavy heart,” saying the deceased passed away in total submission to the will of God.
Orbih is survived by his wife, Mrs Florence Orbih; his children, Ms Winifred Anwosiobor Orbih and Dr Mildred Omonemi Orbih; his brothers and sisters, as well as other members of the extended family.
The family described him as a beloved brother, husband, father and uncle and appealed to relatives, friends and well-wishers to remember them in their prayers as they mourn his death.
“Further details will be announced in due course,” the family statement said.
Orbih was a prominent figure in the PDP and had served in various leadership capacities within the party. His death is expected to trigger reactions across the political community, particularly in the South-South region.
The family prayed for the repose of his soul, saying, “May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
