The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has waived the screening requirement for former President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of its presidential primary.
The decision was announced by the party leadership led by Kabiru Turaki, following a meeting of the screening committee in Abuja on Tuesday.
Members of the committee, chaired by former Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu, disclosed the development during the session.
The move clears the former president for direct participation in the party’s presidential primary process without undergoing the standard screening procedure.
Party officials did not immediately provide further details on the rationale behind the waiver.
