FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc, makers of Peak Milk, has withdrawn its “insensitive” advertisement and apologised to Christians for its recent Good Friday post on the Peak brand’s social media handle.
The Star had reported that the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) threatened to call on Christians to boycott Peak Milk and other WAMCO products over the “insensitive” advertisement on Good Friday.
CAN condemned the social media advert by FrieslandCampina WAMCO which used the crucifixion of Jesus Christ as a metaphor to promote the company’s product on Good Friday.
The association also described the advertisement as “insensitive, offensive, and totally unacceptable”.
