Peggy Ovire confirms divorce from Frederick Leonard

Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire has confirmed that her marriage to fellow actor Frederick Leonard has officially ended, weeks after publicly accusing him of infidelity.

Ovire announced the development through a series of posts on her social media accounts, expressing gratitude over the conclusion of the divorce proceedings.

On her Instagram Story on Wednesday, she reposted a message from a friend that read, “Thank You Jesus. My queen is free,” before sharing another post that simply stated, “Thank You Jesus. It is done.”

She further fueled confirmation of the divorce on Thursday by posting a video of herself on Snapchat with the caption, “Miss Peggy Ovire.”

The announcement follows a series of allegations the actress made against Leonard, accusing him of having an affair with a married woman.

She had also criticised the actor for allegedly failing to appear in court on two occasions after filing for the dissolution of their marriage, claiming he sent his lawyer in his place.

At the time, Ovire had urged Leonard to attend the June 23 court hearing to allow the divorce to be formally concluded.

In a social media post, she alleged that Leonard had sought the divorce but repeatedly failed to appear in court after being served, insisting she was prepared to present evidence at the hearing to bring the marriage to an end.

Peggy Ovire and Frederick Leonard publicly confirmed their relationship in 2022 before tying the knot later that year.

Their separation has since drawn widespread attention from fans and followers on social media.
