Peter Obi meets Wike, PDP govs in Port Harcourt

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has again met with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, at the governor’s private residence in Port Harcourt.

The meeting held on Monday night was attended by the former governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko.

Although the purpose of the meeting could not be immediately ascertained, it may however not be unconnected with the 2023 general election.

Obi, in June, met with Wike behind closed doors.

The details of the meeting remain unknown as the politicians failed to speak to journalists on the purpose of the meeting.

However, it was gathered that Governor Wike also met with Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, and his Abia State counterpart, Okezie Ikpeazu, on Monday.

Also at the meeting were former Cross River Governor, Donald Duke, and ex-Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo, among others.

Disclosing the meeting via a tweet on his verfied Twitter handle on Tuesday, Mimiko, who shared a photo with the politicians, wrote: “Nice to share some time last night with @GovWike @Donald_Duke @PeterObi @HEDankwambo @GovSamuelOrtom, @GovernorIkpeazu, Mohammed Adoke SAN and many other friends.”

Obi was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before he dumped the party for the Labour Party.
