Peter, Paul’s rift may be beyond repair — Brother

Henry Okoye, the eldest brother of former P-Square members Peter and Paul Okoye, has expressed doubts about the possibility of the twin brothers reconciling, saying their prolonged dispute may have caused lasting damage to their relationship.

Henry spoke during an interview with social commentator Jos Connection at the Okoye family’s residence in Plateau State on Friday, where he discussed the renewed crisis between the siblings.

He said although Peter had made efforts to resolve the dispute, he was not confident that the twins would return to the close relationship they once shared.

Henry, however, appealed to Paul to forgive Peter and end the rift, recalling the support Peter reportedly gave him during a period of illness.

“I will be happy for them to come back together but I don’t think it will happen. Paul was a very kind person,” he said.

He also recalled disagreements over the management of the family’s finances and alleged that some of the issues between the brothers had been unresolved for years.

According to Henry, he had made several attempts to reunite the family, including seeking the intervention of prominent individuals, but the efforts had yet to produce the desired result.

“I want all the family to come back. I have tried my best. Even Shehu Dantata spoke to them and they didn’t listen,” he said.

Henry appealed to Jude Okoye, who previously managed P-Square, to help resolve the family’s disagreements and restore peace among the siblings.

He also recalled how Peter allegedly paid his hospital bills when he was ill, urging Paul to remember such gestures and consider forgiving his twin brother.

The latest development comes amid the long-running dispute between Peter, Paul and their elder brother, Jude, which has contributed to repeated tensions within the Okoye family.

Peter and Paul first split in 2017 after years of disagreements but reunited in 2021, raising hopes that their differences had been resolved.

The reconciliation, however, did not last, as the brothers fell out again in 2024.

The latest dispute has included allegations concerning the management of P-Square’s finances and royalties. Peter had accused Paul and Jude of actions that he said undermined his interests, while Paul publicly defended Jude and criticised Peter over his handling of the dispute.

Jude was subsequently arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over allegations involving N1.38bn, $1m and £34,537.59. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Peter later testified in the case, alleging that Northside Music Limited was incorporated and used to collect royalties belonging to P-Square.

The financial dispute has continued in court. In February 2026, Peter admitted during cross-examination that he was a co-signatory to the Northside Entertainment Limited account, contrary to an earlier position that Jude was the sole signatory.

Amid the continuing legal and family disputes, Henry’s latest comments have renewed calls for the Okoye brothers to resolve their differences and restore peace within the family.
