Police arrest 2 for defiling minor, raping housewife in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command says its operatives have arrested two suspects for defiling a seven-year-old pupil and raping house wife in Alkaleri and Tafawa Balewa Local Government Areas of the state.

The Bauchi State Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, made this known in a statement issued on Wednesday.

Wakil stated: “On 06/09/2022 at about 0930hrs a team of detectives attached to Alkaleri Divisional Police Headquarters arrested one Sirajo Ahmed ‘m’ aged 25yrs of Royal Science Academic Alkaleri, for defiling a seven-year-old pupil.

“Information receipt by the Division indicates that on 13/08/2022 at about 1000hrs one Sirajo Ahmad ‘m’ aged 25yrs of Unguwan Ajiya Alkaleri, who is a classroom teacher at Royal Science Academic School Alkaleri, deceitfully lured his seven-year-old pupil into his office at the said school and defiled her.”

The police spokesman noted that the suspect, during the investigation, confessed to the crime, adding that he would be charged to court.

He added: “In a related development on 06/09/2022 at about 1500hrs detectives attached to Tafawa Balewa Divisional Police Headquarters successfully arrested one Monday Ishaku ‘m’ aged 32yrs of Anguwan Ruga who claims to be a herbalist for having canal knowledge of one Rejoice Yalda ‘f’ of Nahuta after intoxication at his house.

“The husband of the victim one Yalda Istifanus ‘m’ of Nahuta reveals that on 03/09/2022 his daughter Mirable Istifanus ‘f’ ged 19yrs was sick after medical treatment there was no improvement to her health status.

“On 05/09/2022 he decided to take her to the said Monday Ishaku who told the husband that his wife Rejoice Yalda is responsible for their daughter’s sickness because she belongs to a secret society and promised to treat both the mother and the daughter in the night.

“In view of this, the suspect tricked the dire health seekers and commit an atrocious act. During interrogation, the suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime.”

Wakil noted that the Bauchi State Commissioner of Police has directed that the cases be charged to court.
