The operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested two persons for allegedly selling Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in the state.
It was gathered that one of the suspects, Chinwendu Nnamani, was arrested after she was seen in a viral video selling PVCs at the sum of N1,000 at the Emene area of Enugu.
The other suspect was said to be an official of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Nkiruka Patience Obinna, aged 38.

The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, Ndukwe Daniel, in a statement issued on Thursday, said the INEC official gave the PVCs to Nnamani for distribution to the owners.
Daniel stated: “Police Detectives serving in the State CID of Enugu State Command, on 31/01/2023, arrested the female suspect, one Chinwendu Nnamani aged 41, involved in the viral social media video clip, in which she is seen and alleged to be selling INEC Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) at the sum of one thousand naira (N1,000.00) at Emene Enugu.”
The police spokesperson, who noted that the suspects have been charged to court, said: “Investigation has been concluded. The case was charged to court, in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act, 2022, and the suspects arraigned accordingly.
“The suspects were granted bail and the case adjourned to 15/02/2023 for further hearing.”
