Police arrest 2 kidnappers, rescue abducted female student in Lagos

The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two suspected kidnappers, Adamaka Chinyere and Bolajoko Haruna, for allegedly abducting a female student in the state.

The command’s spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest via a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.

Hundeyin said the suspected kidnappers were arrested following a tip-off by some residents of the Ikotun area of Lagos.

The police spokesperson stated: “Let’s teach our children not to follow strangers!

“Ikotun Police Division received information from community members about the presence of strange people moving around their neighbourhood suspiciously.

“The police moved in discreetly, quickly enough to rescue a female secondary school student they had tricked into their car and abducted.

“The suspects, Adamaka Chinyere and Bolajoko Haruna, have been arrested and their tinted Toyota Camry impounded.”

He noted that the suspects would be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of an investigation.

“Meanwhile, the student has been reunited with her family,” Hundeyin added.
