The operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested three suspected kidnappers and rescued a 16-year-old female victim in the state.
The command’s spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.
Nguroje said the kidnappers were arrested in an operation carried out by the police in collaboration with hunters in Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
He noted that the operation was launched following a tip-off, saying the operatives stormed a kidnapping den at Fotta village in Gombi.

“The suspects were all arrested at a certain house in a remote side of Fotta Village, where they camped their kidnapped female victim and demanded N8 million ransom,” the police spokesperson said.
Nguroje said the female victim (name withheld) was kidnapped three days ago from Buma village in Shani Local Government Area of Borno State.
He added that the girl is currently receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital.
Nguroje quoted the Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, as assuring the people of the state that there would be no hiding place for criminals as they would be fished out from anywhere within the state.
Morris also enjoined the residents to give timely information to the police, especially those with questionable character.
