The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested three suspected armed robbers and recovered a pistol and three rounds of ammunition at the Lekki-Ajah area of the state.
The suspects are Emeka George, male ‘m’, 30; Ahmed Balogun, ‘m’ 23; and Bolaji Elewuro, ‘m’ 29.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Wednesday.
He said the suspected armed robbers, who had been terrorising the area, were arrested by an Anti-Crime patrol team.
“The Anti-Crime patrol team attached to Ajah Divisional Police Headquarters, Ajah, Lagos, while on routine patrol, intercepted a silver-coloured Honda City vehicle with registration number GGE 288 GV.
“In an exhibition of conscientiousness, the operatives on reasonable suspicion conducted a courteous search on the suspects.

“One locally-made pistol with three live cartridges were recovered from them.
“The operatives immediately moved the suspects to the station and preliminary investigation commenced.”
Hundeyin said the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, in his resolve to ensure safety and security, has assured Lagosians that every required step will be taken to tackle insecurity.
The police spokesperson added that Alabi has further directed that the suspects and exhibits be transferred to the CP Special Squad for a more discreet investigation.
