The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested eight suspected cultists during a raid in the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed this via a statement issued on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
According to Adebisi, the operation followed credible intelligence that led officers to a suspected criminal hideout at about 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15.
Adebisi revealed that the suspected cultists were planning to carry out criminal activities in Lagos State before they were apprehended.
She listed the arrested suspects to include Fadiya Ayodele, Lawal Rasheed, Akerele Demilare, Alimi Victor, Okiki Alufoge, Nurudeen Dolapo, Agboola Samuel, and Ayolade Victor.

“Items recovered at the scene include a Nigerian Military camouflage uniform a battle axe, an assault dagger, several charms, and counterfeit $100 bills totaling $3,000,” the police spokesperson added.
Adebisi said Ayodele, during interrogation, confessed to being the leader of the Eiye Confraternity in the area and admitted to previously handing over a locally made pistol to one Adewunmi Annadex, who is currently on the run.
Adebisi stated that efforts were ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect and recover the firearm.
She quoted the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, as reaffirming the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents across the state.
