Police arrest Abuja pastor wielding AK-47 in church

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested the presiding pastor of the House on the Rock, Uche Aigbe, for carrying an AK 47 rifle to the church in Abuja.

This is just as the FCT Commissioner of Police, Sadiq Abubakar, made a recommendation to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, to dismiss a police officer, Inspector Musa Audu, for handing over his AK rifle to Pastor Aigbe.

It was gathered that the police officer and the cleric were detained by the Intelligence Response Team, Force Intelligence Bureau, Garki, Abuja, on Monday.

The Star had reported that Pastor Aigbe mounted the pulpit of the church with an AK 47 rifle on Sunday.

Aigbe, it was gathered, mounted the pulpit with a gun during the church’s second service which often has a high turnout of the congregation.

However, it could not be ascertained if the gun the pastor was carrying was loaded or not.

Before delivering his sermon, the cleric said: “Some people are looking for my trouble. And I came here prepared.

“Today, there are some pastors with gift of divination who go about ripping people. This is why we should carry our guns and defend ourselves.

“I will particularly be coming very soon for some of you sleeping in the church,” he stated.
