Lagos Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the abduction and killing of Thompson Adams, a 17-year-old candidate who sat the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination before his death in Ikorodu.
State Commissioner of Police Fatai Tijani named the suspects as Elijah Emmanuel, 23, and Tony Ekwen Ogenata, 21, saying operatives apprehended them on Monday at about 8pm following credible intelligence at Lucky Fibre, Ikorodu.
Tijani told journalists at the command headquarters in Ikeja on Wednesday that Adams was returning from the examination hall on April 22 when he was lured by the suspects — both his secondary school classmates — to their apartment and killed. His body was later stuffed in a bag and dumped within the community.
Further interrogation of the suspects exposed an earlier crime. Investigators linked them to the kidnapping and murder of a female victim in November 2025 — described as the girlfriend of one of the suspects. The killers contacted her family and demanded ransom, collecting N300,000 before killing her anyway.
Tijani said both suspects would be charged to court on conclusion of investigations.
