Police debunk kidney sale report in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has denied receipt of a report on the sale of kidney in the Nyanya area of Abuja.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, made this known via a statement issued on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

Adeh said the clarification followed viral publications alleging that the command had confirmed reports that young people residing in the Nyanya area of Abuja had sold their kidneys for money.

The publications also alleged that an agent in Mararaba area of Nasarawa State was purchasing the kidneys from the young people.

Adeh stated: “The FCT Police Command wishes to categorically state that it has neither received nor confirmed any report of such nature.

The police spokesperson urged the public to disregard the report and refrain from circulating unverified information capable of causing unnecessary fear, panic, and apprehension among residents.
