The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has dismissed reports alleging an attempted assassination on Lt. Ahmed Yerima in Abuja.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, in a statement issued on Sunday, November 16, 2025, described the reports as false and unfounded.
Adeh stated that no such incident had been reported or recorded in Abuja.
The police spokesperson urged the public to ignore the rumour and refrain from spreading unverified information capable of creating unnecessary fear and tension among residents.

Adeh stated: “The Command wishes to categorically state that no such incident has been reported or recorded anywhere within the Federal Capital Territory.
“The public is advised to disregard this false information and desist from spreading unverified claims capable of causing unnecessary panic.
“For the safety of all residents, the Command urges the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest Police Division.“
