A police inspector attached to the Agbara Division of the Ogun State Police Command has been found dead in his apartment in the Ago ETO area of Agbara.
The deceased, identified as 45-year-old Inspector Usman Hassan, Force Number AP 367263, was reportedly found lifeless on Thursday, August 21, 2026.
A police source said the discovery was reported to the command at about 2pm by a resident of Idi Oke community, Alhaji Amodu Mohammad.
Hassan was attached to the Agbara Division but had been deployed on special duty to Transpol Abeokuta since June 8.
Following the report, the Station Officer, ASP Minapon Adebayo, visited the inspector’s apartment, where he found him lying lifeless on the floor.
The circumstances surrounding Hassan’s death remain unclear.
His remains were subsequently evacuated and deposited at the Badagry mortuary pending an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The police are also making efforts to contact his relatives as investigations continue into the circumstances of the incident.
The command is expected to provide further details as the investigation progresses.
