Gunmen have killed one person and abducted a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member and three others following an attack on Kubwa Relocation Estate in Abuja.
It was gathered that the gunmen also injured one resident in the attack which occurred on Tuesday night.
Confirming the incident via a statement issued on Wednesday, the spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, said the assailants, at about 7:30 pm on Tuesday, stormed Kubwa Relocation Estate in Abuja, shot two victims, one Abel popularly known as Oshodi, and another Abdulwahab.
“The suspects while departing the scene, left with four victims possibly to enable them evade arrest by the approaching police response team deployed to the area on quick intervention.

“The two gunshot victims were immediately rushed to the hospital for medical attention but unfortunately, one of them, Oshodi could not survive as he was confirmed dead by the doctor, while Abdulwahab is still being attended to,” Isah added.
He, however, noted that the police operatives later rescued three victims and recovered firearms and ammunition, including one AK-47 riffle, and 25 rounds of ammunition from the gunmen.
Isah quoted the FCT Commissioner of Police, Sunday Babaji, as calling for calm in the Kubwa area, noting that the command had since deployed intelligence and other operational assets possible to fortify security in the area and its environs.
Babaji assured that investigations had since commenced to identify the assailants and bring them to book to ascertain their mission and motives.
