Police inspector missing during joint operation in Sokoto

A police inspector deployed for a joint military operation in Sabo-Birni, Sokoto State, has been declared missing.

The Commanding Officer of the 7 Police Mobile Force (PMF), Sokoto, confirmed the development in a situation update on Thursday.

The officer, identified as Inspector Ibrahim Yusuf, was assigned to night sentry duty from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. on August 27 but failed to report back.

By midnight of August 28, he was unaccounted for and unreachable by phone.

Police authorities said a search operation, in collaboration with the military, has been launched to trace his whereabouts.
