The Katsina State Police Command has arrested a suspected cross-border drug trafficker, recovering 11 cartons of illicit drugs along the Nigeria–Niger Republic border.
The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Ibrahim Sa’adu from Kadangwaris village, was intercepted on September 16 at about 9:00 a.m. during a stop-and-search operation at the Kwangolom checkpoint in Daura.
He was reportedly driving a blue Toyota Carina, with registration number DRA 31 AA, and attempting to cross illegally into Niger Republic when the drugs were discovered.
Police sources confirmed that the suspect and the recovered exhibits have been transferred to Mai-Adua Division for further investigation.
