Police re-arrest Portable over assault

The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have reportedly arrested controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, for allegedly assaulting a police officer in the state.

The singer’s arrest comes a few days after he regained freedom from police custody, following his apprehension for alleged failure to pay the balance of his G-Wagon vehicle.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer SP Benjamin Hudenyin had disclosed that the command received a petition against the musician for failure to pay the balance money of the vehicle he purchased from a car dealer.

Police arrest Portable over G-Wagon debt

“He bought G-Wagon for N27 million, paid N13 million and refused to pay the rest, claiming the vehicle was bad. We arrested him today (Tuesday),” Hundeyin had said.

However, pictures and videos circulating on social media showed Portable in handcuffs, flanked by policemen at the station.

While the details of his arrest have not been officially disclosed by the police, it was learnt that the singer was arrested for physically assaulting a police officer.
