The Gombe State Police Command has announced a major crackdown on illegal motor parks and unregistered taxi services operating across the state capital.
The directive, which includes the immediate shutdown of the Dadin Kowa Motor Park, aims to restore public order, strengthen security, and safeguard commuters.
In a statement issued on Monday, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Buhari Abdullahi emphasized that the enforcement aligns with the state government’s broader efforts to regulate transport operations and ensure passenger safety.
He warned that individuals or groups caught loading or unloading passengers at unauthorized points or operating unapproved taxi services would face serious legal consequences.
These include arrest, prosecution, and the possible impounding of vehicles.

“All commercial vehicle operators must now carry out loading and unloading activities exclusively at the Ibrahim Hassan Dan-Kwambo Motor Park — the only officially recognized and designated facility for such operations,” the statement read.
The police also advised commuters to avoid using vehicles operating from illegal locations or taxis that do not bear the official paint scheme.
The public is urged to cooperate with law enforcement and transport authorities.
Security personnel and enforcement agencies have been mobilized to ensure strict compliance with the new directive, and the public is encouraged to report any violations to the nearest police station.
