A policeman and two residents have been shot after gunmen attacked the convoy of the former Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, along the Nkpor–Nnobi road in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
It was gathered that Ngige, a former governor of Anambra State, was not in the convoy when the incident occurred on Wednesday evening.
Eyewitnesses disclosed that the gunmen, who were dressed in police and army uniforms, shot a lady recording the attack.
It was gathered that a shop owner who raced to inquire what was happening was also shot, alongside a policeman in the pilot car.

The assailants were said to have carted away the policeman’s uniform and gun.
The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident on Thursday, November 27, 2025.
Ikenga disclosed that police operatives recovered a white Mercedes-Benz SUV the gunmen snatched during the attack, saying the vehicle has been taken to police station for further investigation.
“Police operatives have also stepped up a coordinated statewide manhunt for the fleeing armed hoodlums,” he added.
