Political thuggery: DSS arrests two Kano LG chairmen, gov’s aide

Two local government chairmen of Gwarzo and Kano Municipal, Bashir Abdullahi Kutama and Faizu Alfindiki respectively, have been arrested for alleged involvement in political thuggery.

The operatives of the Department of State Sercives (DSS) arrested the LG chairmen for allegedly using political thugs to cause mayhem in the state.

Chairman of Gwale Local Government Area, Khalid Ishaq Diso, was placed on wanted list while one Dr. Sabiu, an aide of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje was also arrested on the same allegation.

A top official of the DSS who pleaded anonymity confirmed the development in Kano on Wednesday.

There have been crises in some local governments of the state arising from political activities.

Chaos erupted recently at Garo and Burkun areas of Kabo and Bunkure Local Governments when supporters of some aspirants engaged in fight resulting in the killing of four persons.
