A Delhi-to-Chennai IndiGo flight was forced to divert to Hyderabad after a passenger’s power bank reportedly caught fire mid-air, sending smoke through the cabin and alarming passengers.
The incident occurred on October 11 aboard Airbus A321 flight 6E 6115, which was diverted to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport as a precaution.
Dramatic footage from the aircraft showed flames inside an overhead compartment as cabin crew members scrambled to extinguish the fire, while frightened passengers screamed.
The fire reportedly started after smoke began emanating from a passenger’s personal electronic device.
Authorities confirmed that the aircraft landed safely in Hyderabad, with no injuries or casualties reported.
