The Presidency has dismissed claims circulating on social media that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has replaced his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, with Principal Private Secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola.
In a statement on Thursday, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described the report as false and misleading.
According to the statement, Gbajabiamila remains the Chief of Staff, while Muri-Okunola continues in his position as Principal Private Secretary.
The Presidency insisted that there has been no change in either role.
Onanuga said the rumour was the handiwork of individuals spreading fake news to create tension and misunderstanding within government circles.
He urged Nigerians to disregard the claims and called on the media to verify information before publishing or sharing it online.
The Presidency reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and warned against attempts to misinform the public about internal government affairs.
