Protesters pull down NASS gate
The failure of the security operatives to open the first gate of the National Assembly complex to protesters on Wednesday led to the pulling down of the gate.
The angry workers had asked the security operatives manning the gate to allow protesters to enter the complex and express their displeasure.
But the security officials ignored the request.
Consequently, the workers pulled down the gate.
The Presidents of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) led the anti-poor and subsidy removal protest to the National Assembly in Abuja.
The protesters in their hundreds convened at the Unity Fountain from where they marched to the NASS Complex as early as 7a.m.
The Chief Whip of the Senate received the demands of the protesters
