Redeemer’s University inducts 76 students into nursing profession

The Redeemer’s University in the Ede area of Osun State, on Thursday, August 22, 2024, inducted 76 students into the nursing profession.

Speaking at the event, the Acting Head of the Department of Nursing Sciences of Redeemer’s University, Dr Deborah Onisile, said the inductees successfully passed the General Nursing Council Examination.

While urging the inductees to stay resolute and serve humanity with compassion and dignity, Onisile stated that the inductees achieved flawless success in the examination.

She commended the inductees for displaying extraordinary strength, unity, and dedication during the examination period.

Onisile urged the inductees to be proud ambassadors of the nursing profession and be compassionate in the discharge of their duties.

In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Basic Sciences, Prof. Olumide Olukanni, urged the inductees to attend to their patients with patience and in an ethical manner.

Olukanni also urged them to be open to changes and embrace new innovations.

He said: “You are stepping into the health environment that is changing and you must be open to changes.

“Learn new techniques and embrace new opportunities, believe in yourself and ability; this is important because smart and intelligent nurses are the future of health care.”

On his part, the Vice-Chancellor of Redeemer’s University, Prof. Shadrach Akindele, said the nursing profession is a call to serve humanity.

Akindele, who was represented by his deputy, Prof. Parker Yerima, enjoined the inductees to be good and proud ambassadors of the profession.

“You have been found worthy in character to be inducted into the nursing profession, therefore, be upright in your dealings,” the Vice-Chancellor said.

He also appreciated the Redeemer’s University Visitor, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, for his support of the university’s growth and development.

Also speaking, the induction Keynote Speaker, Prof. Prisca Adejumo, urged the inductees to embrace an excellent mentality in the pursuit of their profession.
