President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has confirmed the rescue of 38 worshippers abducted from Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, Kwara State, and the recovery of 51 missing students from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Niger State.
In a statement to Nigerians, the President said he had cancelled his planned trip to the G20 summit in South Africa to personally coordinate security efforts at home.
He praised the efforts of the country’s security forces over the past few days for their role in securing the release and recovery of the abducted victims.
President Tinubu assured Nigerians that he is closely monitoring security developments across the nation and receiving continuous updates from frontline personnel.
He emphasized that every citizen has the right to safety, pledging that under his watch, the government would continue to protect the people and ensure the nation’s security.
“Let me be clear: I will not relent. Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety — and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people,” he said.
