The officers of the Borno State Police Command have arrested a repentant Boko Haram member, Musa Dauda, for allegedly killing and burying his ex-wife, Hafsat Musa, at a farm in Muhammed Goni Stadium, Maiduguri, the state capital.
The Command’s spokesman, ASP Sani Kamilu, who made this known in Maiduguri on Friday, September 22, 2023, disclosed that Dauda invited 45-year-old Hafsat to meet with him on her farm in the stadium premises on September 12.
Kamilu stated that Hafsat was nowhere to be found after honouring Dauda’s invitation.
“The case was not reported to the police until a few days later when the decomposing body of Hafsat was discovered on the farm by her relatives,” he added.

The police spokesperson noted that the police swung into action immediately, visited the scene, and evacuated Hafsat’s corpse to Umaru Shehu Ultramodern Hospital in Maiduguri for autopsy.
Kamilu disclosed that Dauda was arrested on Thursday, September 21, saying he confessed to the commission of the crime.
He added that the repentant Boko Haram member said he saw Hafsat with another person on the farm and he clubbed her with a hoe on the head before she slumped and died.
“Dauda later buried Hafsat on the farm and fled,” Kamilu stated.
The police spokesman said the suspect would be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
