Senate has announced June 29, 2022, as the date to screen the seven ministerial nominees forwarded to the upper chamber by President Muhammadu Buhari for confirmation.
Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, made the announcement at plenary on Wednesday.
Lawan, who later adjourned plenary to June 28, said: “The ministerial nominees will be screened on Wednesday next week.”
President Buhari had in a letter dated June 15, 2022, requested the Senate to confirm the nomination of seven ministerial nominees.

Buhari said the request was made in accordance with Section 147(2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended.
The President added that it was his expectation to receive the usual expeditious consideration and confirmation of the nominees by the upper chamber of the National Assembly.
The nominees for confirmation include Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh (Abia), Umana Okon Umana (Akwa Ibom), Ekumankama Joseph Nkama (Ebonyi), and Goodluck Nanah Opiah (Imo).
Others are Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub (Kano), Ademola Adewole Adegoroye (Ondo), and Odum Udi (Rivers).
