Senator Abbo embarks on 31-day fast to seek political direction

Former Adamawa North Senator, Elisha Abbo, has admitted that his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2020 was done without seeking divine direction.

Abbo, who disclosed this in a post on his official X handle on Friday, said he had since embarked on 31 days of fasting and prayers to seek God’s guidance on his next political step.

“In 2020, I left PDP for APC without praying and asking God’s direction. I relied on human judgment and instincts to flow with the tide,” he wrote.

Abbo was first elected to the Senate in 2019 on the platform of the PDP before joining the APC a year later. He secured a re-election in 2023 under the APC but was removed by the court, which declared PDP’s Amos Yohanna as the rightful winner.
