A former lawmaker, Philip Tanimu Aduda, has officially resigned his membership from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), citing internal crisis within the party.
In a resignation letter dated March 17, 2026, and addressed to the PDP Chairman of Karu Ward in Abuja, Aduda stated that his decision takes immediate effect. He attributed his exit to ongoing challenges within the party.
“I write to formally notify you of my resignation as a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect due to the crisis in the party,” the letter read.
Despite his departure, the former senator expressed appreciation for the opportunities he received while in the party, noting that he had served in various elective positions during his political career.
Aduda, who represented the Federal Capital Territory in the Senate from 2011 to 2023, concluded his letter by extending his regards to the party leadership.
The development adds to a series of recent political shifts within the PDP, as internal disagreements continue to shape the party’s landscape.
