Oluwatunbosun Awe, a longtime aide to Nigerian senator Olajide Ipinsagba, has resigned in protest over what he described as an unsustainable monthly salary of just N20,000.

Awe, who began working with Ipinsagba as a campaign secretary in 2006, later served as a personal assistant and Ward Liaison Officer for Isowopo Ward 2 in Akoko North East Local Government Area of Ondo State.

He cited financial hardship and repeated, unsuccessful appeals for a salary review as reasons for his decision to step down after nearly two decades of service.

The resignation has ignited widespread debate online, with many questioning the treatment of political aides. Senator Ipinsagba has yet to respond publicly to the allegations.
