Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has welcomed Queen Zaynab Ngohemba—formerly married to the Ooni of Ife—into his family in Mbakor, Benue State.
The union was confirmed by a member of the Dajoh family, Abraham Double-d Dajoh, in a celebratory social media post on Friday.
According to the family, the marriage is a “beautiful” and “uncommon” addition to the Akume household.
In their statement, the Dajoh family extended gratitude to supporters of the SGF and urged continued loyalty as the couple embarks on this new chapter together.
They also welcomed Queen Zaynab to Benue State, describing it as “the Food Basket of the Nation” and celebrating her arrival with cultural warmth.
Queen Zaynab was previously known as Olori Wuraola during her 17-month marriage to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, which ended in 2017.
Akume’s spokesman confirmed the marriage and clarified that the couple had actually been married for more than a year, countering claims that the wedding took place during a recent Christmas event.
