SGF condemns killing of Adamawa lawmaker, Bakano

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, has condemned the killing of the Deputy Leader of Song Local Government Legislative Council, Hon. Ishaya Bakano, who was killed on Saturday in Adamawa State.

The Star had reported that Bakano, who represents Gudu Mboi Ward, was killed at his residence in the early hours of Saturday.

It was gathered that the gunmen also shot the lawmaker’s son.

However, the SGF, in a statement issued by his media aide, Willie Bassey, assured that “security agencies are being mobilised to bring the perpetuators of this dastardly act to justice.”

The SGF further called on the people of the state to remain calm and vigilant just as he urged them to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely information to avert a reoccurrence.

Mustapha, however, commiserated with the government and people of Adamawa State, the deceased family, friends and associates, and prayed to God to “grant eternal repose to the soul of the departed”.
