The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, has announced that Vice President Kashim Shettima will visit Jos, the Plateau State capital, to officially welcome prominent politicians who recently defected to the ruling party.
Prof. Nentawe made the announcement during the APC Strategic Stakeholders Meeting held at the Crest Hotel Conference Hall in Jos. He said the Vice President’s visit, scheduled to take place within the next two weeks, is part of the party’s efforts to strengthen its structure and consolidate its growing influence across Plateau State.
“We welcomed Mr. President about two weeks ago, and now we are going to welcome the Vice President,” Nentawe stated.
He added that several top political leaders, including the Senate President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and a number of APC governors, have confirmed their attendance at the event.
“I spoke with the governors under our great party, and many have assured me of their presence. The Senate President and the Speaker have also agreed to come. So, we’re going to have a full house again,” he said.
Nentawe further revealed that Architect P.D. Gyang has been appointed as Chairman of the Central Planning Committee for the event, with other committee members to be announced soon.
Highlighting recent party activities, the APC Chairman noted that the party had concluded a successful medical outreach supported by a team from the United States, with local doctors set to continue the program for another week.
He also disclosed plans to launch a ₦100 million business challenge next Monday to support youths and small business owners. Beneficiaries will receive grants ranging from ₦250,000 to ₦1 million to grow their enterprises.
Prof. Nentawe assured party members that the APC would continue introducing impactful programs to engage citizens and maintain its momentum ahead of future elections.
