The February 25 presidential election was a stiff one between the PDP and APC in Sokoto State, with the PDP winning with a margin less than 5,000.

The results of the National Assembly elections have yet to be announced as of the time of filing this report.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Tuesday, ordered the state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr Nura Ali, to stay away from the commission until further notice over the controversy that trailed the February 25 elections.

This came ahead of the governorship and state Assembly elections slated for Saturday, March 11, 2023.
