Nigerian singer Sola Allyson has spoken candidly about her marriage, revealing that she has never truly found happiness in it.
Despite remaining legally married, she disclosed that she and her husband now maintain separate homes after years of unresolved challenges.
The soulful vocalist made the revelation during an interview on the Oyinmomo Podcast, where she described her marital journey as anything but fulfilling.
“Marriage has been extremely tough,” she said. “Yes, I am married, but we chose to live apart — he stays in his house and I stay in mine.
“People often talk about joy in marriage, but that has never been my reality.”
Allyson noted that although she put in significant effort, the relationship “did not work out,” prompting their decision to give each other space by living separately.
The singer also used the platform to address what she called a widespread misconception about her music.
Contrary to public belief, she stated that she is not a gospel artiste, even though her songs carry deep spiritual undertones.
“I am not a gospel musician. I am simply Sola Allyson,” she explained.
“I don’t feel compelled to mention Jesus’ name in every song. He doesn’t need promotion.”
Her revelations — both personal and professional — have sparked conversations across social media, with many fans expressing surprise at the depth of her marital struggles and her clarification on her artistic identity.
