Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has approved the dismissal of eight operatives of the Agunechemba Security outfit over the brutal assault and public stripping of a female National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Jennifer Elobor.
The governor’s Special Adviser on Community Security, Ken Emeakayi, disclosed this at the agency’s headquarters in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
A viral video had shown the female NYSC member being assaulted alongside some of her colleagues at a corps members’ lodge in Anambra State.
Elohor, despite several pleas, was beaten and stripped naked by men wielding guns.
Emeakayi, however, said the state government acted swiftly after receiving reports of the incident, adding that the Agunechemba operatives would be handed over to the Anambra State Police Command for prosecution.

Emeakayi stressed that the Soludo administration will not tolerate any form of unprofessionalism, brutality or abuse of office by security operatives.
“Any officer found guilty of misconduct will face immediate dismissal and prosecution,” he added.
Emeakayi added that the government had already settled the corps member’s medical bills, replaced her damaged valuables, including a laptop and phone, and tendered a public apology to her family, the NYSC, and the general public.
He noted that the incident would serve as a turning point in reforming the outfit and restoring public confidence in community security operations.
