The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’adu Abubakar III, on Sunday paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The visit was confirmed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Announcing the meeting on the social media platform X, Onanuga shared photographs of the encounter and wrote: “Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’adu Abubakar III visited President Tinubu at the State House Abuja on Sunday, March 15.”
President Bola Tinubu and the Sultan are widely regarded as Nigeria’s foremost political and spiritual leaders, respectively.
The Sultan serves as the traditional and religious leader of Muslims across the country.
Details of the discussions held during the meeting were not disclosed as of the time of filing this report.
However, such high-level courtesy visits are often aimed at strengthening national unity, promoting peace, and discussing issues related to governance and national security.
