Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has announced the review of the earlier 24-hour curfew imposed on the state on Saturday.
Tambuwal said the revised curfew will now be from dusk to dawn in Sokoto metropolis.
The governor made this known via a statement issued by the Sokoto State Commissioner for Information, Isah Galadanci,on Monday.
Governor Tambuwal had on Saturday imposed a 24-hour curfew to contain the rising protests across township streets over alleged religious blasphemy.
The protests were caused by an alleged religious blasphemy made by a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, against Islamic religion through a social media channel.
However, the governor, on Monday, said the relaxation of the curfew was to enable residents of the state to embark on their legitimate businesses.
